Support, Funding, and Patron Pathways

Spiralweb Stewardship Association can receive resources in different forms. Each form must be identified and handled according to its actual purpose and agreement. The word support does not make a membership fee, a public contribution, a grant and payment for work the same thing.

Ways to support the work

• Public contributions enter First Field Flow's shared purpose. A contribution cannot be earmarked for a particular place, person or project. The current collection purpose, terms and payment details are at spiralweb.earth/support.
• Membership fees support the association under its bylaws. Membership does not give authority over a field.
• Private gifts and patron support require clarity about their purpose and any proposed conditions before acceptance.
• Grants and institutional agreements can have a defined scope, budget and reporting duties. These are agreed separately from the public collection, with local roles, consent and authority made clear.
• Payment for work is recorded as income for the work provided, not as a donation.

Financial contributions do not, by themselves, give a supporter control over local decisions or access to restricted field knowledge. The association may decline support whose conditions it cannot responsibly accept. Money alone does not make a field ready to begin or expand work.

Formal accounts document how funds are received and spent. The PG Ledger can connect resources with decisions, field activity, observations and learning, subject to consent. It does not replace the accounts.
